Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and The Dronacharya when you buy a kit, read a guide or use this site.

1.Who we are and what this covers
This website at thedronacharya.com and the accompanying mobile application are operated by The Dronacharya, a sole proprietorship based in Maharashtra, India (“we”, “us”, “The Dronacharya”). These Terms govern your use of the site and the app, and every order you place through either.
By placing an order, creating an account, or using this site, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund & Cancellation Policy and the Shipping Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2.Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to place an order. If you are under 18, you may use this site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who will be responsible for the order.
We currently ship only within India, to addresses served by our courier partners. We do not accept international orders.
3.Products and descriptions
We sell electronics kits for building TV ambilight systems. We describe every kit as accurately as we can, including exact component counts and specifications, and we test the components we ship.
- Product photographs and illustrations are representative. Minor variations in the colour, branding or exact model of commodity components — connectors, adapters, tools — may occur between batches, provided the specification we publish is met or exceeded.
- LED strips are sold by length and density. A "5 m, 60 LEDs/m" roll contains 300 LEDs. Manufacturing tolerance on strip length is typically ±2%.
- These are hobbyist electronics kits, not certified consumer appliances. They are supplied for you to assemble and install yourself.
4.Prices, taxes and payment
- All prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of GST where GST applies. The price displayed on the product page is the price of the goods — nothing further is added at checkout except shipping, which is shown separately before you pay.
- Shipping charges, and any free-shipping threshold, are displayed in the cart and at checkout before payment.
- We may change prices at any time. The price that applies to your order is the one displayed at the moment you complete payment.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, CVV or net-banking credentials.
- If a payment succeeds but your order does not appear, contact us with the payment reference. If we cannot locate a corresponding order, the amount is refunded in full.
Pricing errors. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a technical or human error, we are not obliged to supply it at that price. We will contact you, and you may either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
5.Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm the order by email after payment is captured. Until then we may decline any order — for example if stock has run out, if the delivery address is not serviceable, or if we suspect fraud.
Stock counts shown on the site are updated after each successful payment. In the rare case that two orders are captured for the last unit, we will contact the second customer and offer either a wait or an immediate full refund.
6.Delivery
Delivery terms, dispatch times and courier arrangements are set out in the Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address you provided.
7.Returns, cancellations and refunds
Your rights to cancel, return and obtain a refund are set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8.Warranty and what it does not cover
We warrant that the components we supply are free from manufacturing defects for six months from delivery. If a component fails within that period in normal use, we will replace it.
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused during assembly, soldering or installation — including lifted pads, heat damage, reversed polarity and cut or crushed strip.
- Components connected to a power supply other than the one supplied, or operated outside their rated voltage.
- LED strip that has been cut anywhere other than a marked cut line.
- Consumables and tools supplied in the builder kit: solder wire, flux, iron tips, gloves and eye protection.
- Normal degradation of adhesive backing over time, or adhesive failure caused by an unclean, textured or hot mounting surface.
- Physical damage, liquid damage, or damage from a power surge.
Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in respect of goods that are defective or not as described.
9.Safety — read this one properly
The builder kit contains a soldering iron that reaches temperatures capable of causing serious burns and starting fires, and solder and flux that produce fumes you should not inhale. You are responsible for your own safety when assembling a kit.
- Use the supplied eye protection. Solder spits when flux boils.
- Work in a ventilated space and do not lean over the fumes.
- Return the iron to its stand every time you put it down, and never leave a hot iron unattended.
- Disconnect mains power before working on any wiring.
- Keep the kit, its tools and its small parts away from children and pets.
- Do not exceed the rated current of the supplied power adapter, and do not defeat the brightness limit configured in the firmware.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury, property damage or loss arising from your assembly, installation or use of a kit, or from modifications you make to it.
10.Third-party software and services
The kits are designed to run WLED, an open-source firmware, and to work with SignalRGB on Windows. Neither is our software. We do not control them, we cannot guarantee they will continue to behave as described, and we are not responsible for changes their developers make. Our build guides describe the behaviour as at the date of the guide.
11.How you order
Orders are placed over WhatsApp. There are no accounts and no passwords. We will confirm stock, the total including shipping, and payment details in that conversation before anything is dispatched.
Keep that conversation — it is your record of what was agreed, and it is what we will both refer to if anything needs sorting out.
12.Our content and your use of it
The build guides, diagrams, photographs, copy, brand name and logo on this site belong to us. You are welcome to read the guides, follow them, print them for your own use, and link to them. You may not republish them wholesale, sell them, or present them as your own work.
If you build something from our guides, you own what you built. Tag us if you like — we will probably repost it.
13.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site or app for any unlawful purpose, or to place fraudulent orders.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts or data.
- Scrape, mirror or systematically extract content from the site.
- Interfere with the operation of the site, including by automated request flooding.
14.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of data, or damage to other equipment.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
15.Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control — including courier disruption, natural disaster, civil unrest, strikes, epidemic, failure of a payment gateway, or government action.
16.Grievance officer
In accordance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology Rules, complaints may be addressed to our grievance officer:

18.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The version in force for your order is the version published when you placed it. Material changes will be flagged on this page, and the “last updated” date above will change.
